Ambleside is a gorgeous Lakeland town. Check out the famous Bridge House in the centre of town
or the many outdoor-gear shops or coffee shops, galleries and restaurants
Go for a potter along the many streams...
... have a paddle or dip if you can take the cold!
Take a boat out on one of the lakes...
or canoeing for the more adventurous...
or a Segway perhaps at Grizedale Forest
There’s an easy trek up the waterfalls behind Ambleside town
and of course lovely valleys to roam nearby
If you fancy getting the blood pumping, head up the hills (Todd Crag pictured here above Ambleside)
...or if you’re feeling adventurous take on a proper fell (Helvellyn). Stunning in all weathers.
If you’re lucky, you’ll get above the clouds!
And then there’s always Crook golf course for days on the flat...
Check out the caves! (Rydal caves)
Cathedral Cave, Little Langdale
Rydal Church, (where Wordsworth lived and was minister)
Gorgeous nearby Rydal Water...
