If you have a lot of App Updates it can be a pain to wait for them to all install before you can use an app

3D Touch an icon (press into the screen) and you can bump it up the queue by selecting Prioritise Download

Unfortunately this won't work on the iPhone XR as it doesn't have 3D Touch support

You can pause a download - to resume, just press the icon again

You can also cancel a download altogether
