How to take a day trip to Ouzoud waterfalls from Marrakesh

by Franz Schrepf

Ouzoud is the highest waterfall in Africa with 110m, closely followed by Victoria Falls with 108m πŸ€“

Before the trip pack water, snacks, and sunscreen. Optionally, pack your own lunch and peanuts for the monkeys πŸ’

Bus pickup at 8am at the closest spot to your riad. We booked on Tripadvisor and called the tour provider to check.

There will be a break half way through the 3h bus ride.

The tour starts with a walk through and olive field...

... your first peak at Ouzoud falls...

... and The Valley below.

On the hike to the bottom of The Valley (wear good shoes!) you learn about the history of Olive farming in the area...

... and visit a Berber farm (local people of Morocco) where they make olive and argan oil which you can buy here too

In The Valley, you finally get to see the waterfall in it’s entire beauty 🀩

You can swim or take the boat to get closer, or take a new profile picture from your favourite angle.

Nice! πŸ‘

On the way up, you get to hang out with the locals...

... before you are finally rewarded with a lunch in the restaurant or eat your pre-packed lunch (cheaper!)

There are ~20min after lunch to explore the top of the waterfall...

... and grab some last quick pictures depending on how daring you are!

Time to say bye to the waterfall and your tour guide and head back to Marrakech! What a day!πŸ‡²πŸ‡¦
