‘Dress’ your venue appropriately (cheap tartan drapes/ runners, bunting, tartan serviettes and thistles all good)
if you can, find some entertainment/ a Scottish host (good knowledge of Burns poetry and it’s pronunciation helpful!)
After the ‘Ode to the Haggis’, give it a good, ceremonial tour of the room
Find a willing man to write/ recite an ‘Ode to the Lassies’ and a woman for an ‘Ode to the Laddies’
Serve menu of a) cock-a-leekie soup b) haggis, neeps and tatties c) cranachan (with whisky!). Then party & ceilidh!
